The PB&J Theatre Co. is staffed by an enthusiastic group of amazing people. Our team is made up of camp management professionals as well as alumni with a strong passion for supporting the next generation of campers.

Pat Wilhelms

Director and Teaching Artist

Pat Wilhelms is excited to helm the newly created PB&J Theatre Co. Prior to that she founded and served as Artistic Director of Roanoke Children’s Theatre from 2008-2020. And prior to that she worked at Mill Mountain Theatre as Director of Education and Resident Director for 10 years.  At RCT, Pat taught theatre classes and directed 42 productions. Her favorites are Madeleine's Christmas, Shrek, Cat In The Hat, Seussical, Annie and Matilda. Pat’s theatre education includes a BFA from Daemen College. and she attended Penn State for her MFA. Acting and directing credits include  residencies with GEVA, Theatre of Youth Co, Idaho Rep, Melic and Mime and Mill Mountain Theatre where she performed among others, a one woman show called: At What Cost, The Story of Marie Curie. Pat is now excited to bring the art and craft of theatre to the Grandin Village at The Roanoke Ballet Theatre.

Reed Carter 

Musical Director
S. REED CARTER, IV  is artistic director of the Salem Choral Society, and he is the director of music/organist at Salem Presbyterian Church, where he directs adult, youth, children, and handbell choirs. Under his direction, both The Salem Choral Society and the Chancel Choir of Salem Presbyterian have performed at Carnegie Hall. Reed frequently plays piano in the pit for Mill Mountain Theatre shows and he is currently the music director for Roanoke College Theatre Departments production of “Into the Night.” Reed is married to his wife, Susan and they have 3 children; Emma (11), Sawyer (7), and Sam (5).  He is especially thrilled to work with Pat Wilhelms and the wonderful PB&J Theatre company!

Jenni Richards

Jenni is a dancer with the Roanoke Ballet Theatre and will be sharing her talents as choreographer for the PB & J Theatre Co classes this fall.

Abby Shelton

Gabrielle Shelton is a Roanoke-based actor and singer.  A recent high school graduate, former Mill Mountain Conservatory and Roanoke Children's Theatre student and life-long performer, "Abby" is pursuing a career in the performing arts.  She's been seen over the years in many local theatre productions as well as several award-winning short films. Favorite credits include RCT4Teens touring shows The Fakes and ILY Hang Up and Drive, Matilda the Musical, Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Gypsy and Annie. She is so thankful to Pat for the years of training, inspiration and encouragement and Abby is excited to share her love of all things theatre with the students at PB&J Theatre Company!

Ann Marie Thorell

Ann Marie Thorell has been performing theatre for 9 years in the Roanoke Valley. Her favorite regional productions include Matilda, Annie, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (RCT/VCT), and Romeo and Juliet (MMT). Ann Marie sings with the HVHS Vocal Ensemble and is a member of the Youth Professional Ensemble at VCT and the Music Theatre Conservatory at MMT. She is also a student of the Kevin Jones Performing Arts Studio. Ann Marie has been working with Pat since she was 7 years old and is honored to be a part of quality theater education and this wonderful opportunity!
